Bees Pollinating Butternut Squash Flowers
This piece was for an article in the Hypocrite Reader, called "Pollination." This month's issue has the theme "Good Sex," which is why the squash and flowers are somewhat suggestive. I originally wanted them to be even more suggestive, but I also wanted it to be recognizable as an edible plant and a butternut squash specifically because of the content of the article.
The original was done in gouache on 14"x17" bristol.
